My Pacific Crest Trail Story

Hike Along with Me...2650 MILES

Follow along on my Pacific Crest Trail adventure of a lifetime!

The PCT runs from Mexico to Canada.

My goal is to  step out on April 16, 2021 and  finish by the end of August, 2021.

This is THE most exciting individual challenge I have set out to accomplish.

I am SO glad you are here with me.

Your support means so very much.

Thank you!!

I am hiking for personal healing and to promote AWARENESS for Invisible Wounds.

Every step I take I am stepping for education, empowerment, recognition and acceptance, understanding, and healing.

I pray every step along this trail opens yet another person's eyes to

SEE Invisible Wounds.

The further I go, the invisible becomes more visible!!

Find me on the trail map and follow my adventure one day at a time!

Every Mile Counts.

Take the Pledge and help me cover every mile of the Pacific Crest Trail.

                     1 mile makes a difference!

My Personal story

Chapters of my life

I feel blessed with the success and failures I have had in my life. It appears I run in 10 year chapters; each have been the building blocks of who I am today. Baseball aspirations through high school and college, military experiences, high school teacher and coach - these are the chapters of my life story.

Successes and Failures

The success of these experiences developed character, drive, determination, work ethic and will power to be on top.  All qualities everyone on the outside saw.  I have had more failures than success but little did I know it was the invisible wounds that would bring me down and family with it.

Multiple Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs)

It was the invisible wounds from youth sports, concussions,  Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) from a military parachute malfunction, breaching and concussive explosions in the military, and recently in 2017, a head first fall over a retaining wall that should have taken my life.  My brain said enough is enough. TBI, PTSD, depression, anxiety, suicidal attempts, and insomnia consumed me, sending me down a dark path.

Finding Help

Help can be achieved with the right care and I worked at it for three years stretching my family’s and friends’ love. I turned the corner with recreational therapy and found a love for hiking.

Making an impact!

HIKE & HEAL was born.

I want to be the voice and inspiration that YOU also can do it.  I have never felt better!!

Walk with me!
